Integrating SharePoint 2010 Contacts, Calendar and or a Document Library with Outlook 2010

SharePoint 2010 foundation has the ability to Synchronize Contacts, Calendars and Document Libraries to Outlook 2010. Using your web browser and a configured Outlook 2010 profile, you can seamlessly synchronize all of this data with your SharePoint site collection.


Synchronizing a contact List to Outlook

1. Using a web browser, navigate and log into your SharePoint foundation site collection.

2. Once you are logged into your site, select Site Actions, from the ribbon, then choose View All Site Content.

3. Click the name of the Contact list you wish to synchronize with your Outlook 2010 program.

4. Once you have selected the desired contact list, from within the ribbon, under List Tools, choose the List tab.

5. Located in the Ribbon, choose Connect to Outlook. The new contact list will populate under your default contact list.

Note: If the object is greyed out, it's possible you have not accepted a valid list to have synchronized.

 



Synchronizing a Document Library with Outlook 2010

 

1. Using a web browser, navigate and log into your SharePoint foundation site collection.

2. Once you are logged into your site, select Site Actions, from the ribbon, then choose View All Site Content.

3. Click the name of the Document Library you wish to synchronize with your Outlook 2010 program.

4. Once you have selected the desired document Library, from within the ribbon, under Library Tools, choose the Library tab.

5. Located in the Ribbon, choose the Connect to Office drop down and Click Outlook

6. Once prompted, selecting Ok will begin the download.

 

Note: In Outlook, the document library will be added to the Navigation Pane under SharePoint Lists



  

1. Using a web browser, navigate and log into your SharePoint Foundation site collection.

2. Once you are logged into your site, select Site Actions, from the ribbon, then choose View All Site Content.

3. Click the appropriate calendar you wish to synchronize with your Outlook 2010 program.

4. Once you have selected the desired calendar, from within the ribbon, under Calendar Tools, choose the Calendar tab.

5. Located in the Ribbon, choose Connect to Outlook. The new Calendar will populate under your default Outlook calendar.


Note: If the object is greyed out, it's possible you have not accepted a valid list to have synchronized.
