What is a Resource Mailbox?

A Resource Mailbox is a mailbox used for the time regulation of certain resources, such as conference rooms. Resource mailboxes are useful for managing the schedule of a conference room or auditorium, and allows users to reserve a timeslot in the room when a meeting is created in Outlook or OWA. This provides a simple and efficient way of utilizing resources in an organization.

Resource mailboxes are converted from standard Full Access mailboxes. A resource mailbox is a billable mailbox and is charged at the same rate as a Full Access mailbox.
